Favorite weapon

Just wondering what weapon everyone perfers and why.
Personally I like the BAR. It packs a good punch, has good range, and rapid fire is good for getting you out of a jam.

I am a mortar (T2) and Bazooka (MOH:AA) kinda guy! I like the BIG BANG for the buck! BAR is fine for medium range encounters with short bursts, otherwise it takes too long to reload and doesn't have large clip.

The shotgun is the best Bang-for-the-buck in head-to-head, close combat...be sure to keep it loaded (unless you are a ballet instructor and can dance around for 2-5 seconds while it reloads)!

I think the best all-around weapon is the SMG, it has range, accuracy in small bursts and packs a punch from close to extended range. Good size clip (could be bigger) and fairly fast reload!

Me also likes the sniper rifle. Being old, I like to lay back until most of the fighting is done by the younger, more energetic folks, then snipe what's left!

I have to agree with you about the shotgun, very dangerous. When I see TC I immediately start back peddling to put space in between us. The only problem I have is with its range.

For me the SMG doesnt pack enough punch. I can kill someone with half the shots with the BAR. But you are right about the speed issue.

The sniper is a favorite of mine too. I like the idea of taking someone out in one shot from a distance without anyone knowing where it came from. But alas, I am not skilled enough to wield it that often.

My Two favs are the Shotgun and the Sniper rifle, with the pistol (for whipping) a close third. In true fashion in game play with me for all games I play I'm either sniping or in their face. Its what I do best so I stick with it. Bar is probably the best "overall" weapon in the game for range and rate of fire. But up close gimme that shottie :)

Yeah, I gotta say that prior to encountering TC I was strictly a SMG kinda guy. That is, I liked the Thompson SMG when I was an American and the MP40 (the German equivalent of the BAR) when I was a German. Overall the MP40 is probably the best gun in the game, IMHO. It has the accuracy at range and a good rate of fire. I've effectively knocked people down at sniper range with short, controlled bursts from the MP40. It's downside is how much it slows you down with it's weight.

The Thompson though is sweet. It's not as accurate at range as the MP40 and it has a tendency to ride up too hard when you're blowing a clip out at full auto. But the rate of fire is awesome in close, it's much lighter and it's shot grouping puts the German Schmeisser to shame.

But that was all before I ran into TC and was exposed to the Brotherhood of the Scattergun. It's an amazing thing but the shotgun is a good wep to take on almost any map...if you are the patient sort and know how the game works. I've faced long approaches to the enemy (particularly in the water on The Bridge) where he had a MG or SMG and I had a shotgun. Dancing around until he spends his entire clip then moving in fast while he reloads and smoking his unworthy ass is getting to be a habit. Naturally, nothing is better at close range...hard to argue with a one shot kill, y'know? ;)

I personally don't care much for the German rifle or the sniper rifle on either side. I wish I was as good with the Garand as I've seen some guys be with it...that's a smooth wep if yer good with it. And for pistols...well...I'm glad that the Luger is a secondary wep is all I have to say for that. There's been times that harsh language would have done better than the damage that POS deals out. :D

It really depends on the map on what weapon is my favorite weapon is. Although I tend to use the MP40 most of the time I pretty much can use any weapon if need be.

Absolutely Stabs. Dietrich, although last night I saw the bazooka work pretty well in V-12!!! :) It is usually an SMG or shotgun map. I still can't get used to the BAR/MP-40. You have to be really accurate at long range and if the ping of your opponent is a lot higher or lower than yours, this isn't going to work. Euro had a couple instances last night where he backed up and placed the "shotgun" at the back of a guys head and let loose with several rounds, without any effect!! I shot 3 bazooka rounds last night that appeared to "go through" the individual I shot them at! This game is really "ping-determinant," and that's a shame, but a thing of the beast!
