I am considering an upgrade to my monitor.
My rig has 2 ( 7950 BFG 512 PCIe cards) I have been lusting after the Dell 24 inch LCD for some time, but I read an article in PC Gamer about using a 32 inch lcd tv and using a dvi - hdmi cable to power it.
I found this lcd tv on new egg: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16889116003
http://www.viewsonic.com/products/tventertainment/lcdtv/n3260w/index.htm
Is there any reason why this would not work as a monitor for my rig?

After learning a bit more. I am not sure this will work. It will only get up to 1280 X 1024 resolution.
It would be a much bigger display, but not really any more usable space.
Anyway. I can still dream about it.

YOu can have to much screen in front of you. If you can't see it all at once it will impede you in the end in my opinion.
Currently I have two flavors of wide screen LCD on my desk.
Both are from Samsung.
At home I have a 206B 20".
at work I have a 204BW 20".
Both are simply amazing. The 206 is 2ms GtoG. I love it.

Yeah, I have to say I have a 21" LG Flatron with a 2ms response time. Got it used and paid, I think, like $175 for it. Bargain of the century. The screen is clear, sharp and rocks the house for gaming.
One of the few items I don't need to upgrade. :)

Makes sense. I will now return to lusting after the 24 WS from Dell.
But it needs to be cheaper that 500.00 before I even consider.
