My system is wierding out with IE. The temporary file folder keeps getting put in the \winnt\temp directory and my history folder is lost or something. I have not installed anything recently or changed IE. I think it was one of the latest patches

Can I just re-install over the top of the existing one? I have never seen this particular problem. The system works fine, but my IE cleanup script will not work anymore and I can't delete the history files either.

Might just bite the bullet and go get XP...

I'm liking XP actually...after tweaking. Go download powertoys and use the repair tools. It might fix some of your problems.

Never I repeat NEVER try the IE6.0 repair installation 'feature'.....

I finally ended up uninstalling IE 6.0 and then reinstalling it. Solved the issue with the temp cache, but then outlook puked. That had to do with a bad Outlook Express dll file. (well not really bad, just missing since I had uninstalled outlook express before  )

P.S. Never found any repair feature in the power toys suite.
