OK by now, most of you have seen or played online with Strike. He is a good friend of mine but for some reason cant seem to figure out anything computer related. Least of all, how to post on this forum!!
Anyway, he bought BF42 and installed it. But he had some rather odd problems. His load movie and splash screens work fine. But , when you get to the profiles page, everything is a translucent blue color. Then when the maps load, all you can see is the blue color in the map. No buildings or grenades.
Very strange. I have tried all that I can think of. I have even looked through all of EA's forums and actually found someone with the similar problem. However the advice was less than helpful.
He has DX 8.1a and the latest video drivers for his card. I have tried all manner of in-game video configs. Even tried winxp compatability mode settings. Also tried turning off "write-combining" and "anti-aliasing" with no results.

Windows XP Home Edition
2.1 Ghz P4
20Gb HD
256MB
ATI RAGE PRO Ultra II (32MB)
